GOVERNOR HELD UP.
SCHOOL PUPILS’ RUSE. MOTOR CAR HALTED. ADDRESS & BOUQUET PRESENTED (By Tetegranh.—Pre-ss Association.) BLENHEIM, Wednesday. His Excellency the Governor-Gen-eral and Lady Alice arrived at Blenheim last night on their farewell tour of the Dominion. While en route from Havelock the vice-Regal car found an obstruction on the line at Okaramio. The school children stretctied a rope of entwined native grass across the highway and brought the car to a halt. The ingenious young highwaymen induced Their Excellencies to alight and listen to an address of welcome from the chairman of the school committee.- Sir Charles aknowiedged the felicitations and a small pupil presented Lady Alice with a bouquet of native clematis, which particularly pleased Her Excellency. This morning the party are out on a tour of the various schools.
