OBITUARY.
MR HAROLD BEGBIE. (By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright.) (Australian Press .visorlm mri. i (Received October 9, 9.4 5 a.m.) LONDON, October 8. The death is announced of Mr Harold Begbie, aged 57. Mr Harold Begbie resided at Garden Court, Swanage, Dorset. After writing “By the Way” for the Globe and editing “V.C.,” a short-lived but excellent weekly journal, he wrote “Master Workers," a series of talks with eminent men. With “Broken Earthenware" he achieved a remarkable success, following the book in some what similar vein with “In the Hand of the Potter" and “The Ordinary Man and the Extraordinary Thing.” He has written the official biography of the late General William Booth, and many war poems. He published “Mrs O’H.” in 1910, and a volume on Sir C. Wakefield’s Mayoralty and “The Little that is Good,” 1917. A memoir of Earl Grey’s last days appeared in 1917. “Painted Windows” and other volumes were from his busy pen.
