RACING.

(To the Editor.) Sir,—At the risk of being dubbed a “killjoy” and a “wowser,” I will endorse the remarks of “D. 5.0.” in your issue of Saturday last. lam convinced that there is far too much racing in this fair land and the country and the people would be better off financially, mentally and physically if a very decided cut were made in the permits. Victoria and New South Wales have given the Dominion a good lead, but I do not think it will be followed. it requires a strong man to light custom and vested interests, and I fear there are not many such in the ranks of our politicians.—l am, etc., GEE-GEE.
