FRANKTON SCHOOL,
MEETING OF COMMITTEE. | At the monthly meeting of the - Frankton School Committee there were ! present Messrs A. E. Fredrie (chairj man ), Kilharn (vice-chairman), Bary, ! Hayward, Ugilvie, Halctow, and 11. Leo (secretary). An apology for absence was received from Mr Gilmore. The balance in the bank was reported to be £2 4 15s 3d. Accounts were passed for payment amounting to £3 10s. The headmaster reported that the average attendance for the past month was iI 5 and the total number on the school roll was -488, the additional
pupils being to the infant classes, which was a good sign. It was resolved to again press the Frankton Tennis Club to clear up the tennis courts and make repairs where necessary. It was decided to approach the Education Board to repair and re-asphalt the school grounds where they were previously asphalted. Minor repairs and certain improvements have been made to the school and grounds. The playing area is in good order, and with consistent rolling a good cricket pitch is being formed. In accordance with the motion passed by the Hamilton Dental Clinic Committee, the school committee expressed a desire to the headmaster to remind that the subscription of (id per pupil was due. | The dental nurse visited the school j recently and a large number of children from this school will, in the very near future, be receiving dental treatment. It was resolved to form a special committee from members of the committee and ladies.and local residents to assist in raising further funds for the above object and other matters in connection with the school.
