OBITUARY.
IVIR ALFRED JAMES PROCTOR. The death occurred at his residence at Puketaha yesterday of Mr Alfred James Proctor, aged 53 years, who for the last 17 years had been farming in that district. Horn at Piper's River, Tasmania, Mr Proctor landed* in New Zealand on his 21st. birthday, and for a short time was engaged in the coach-building business in Auckland. lie later shifted to Waihi,- where for some fourteen years lie worked in the Waihi gold mines. Seventeen years ago Mr Proctor went on the land, and up till the time of his death was engaged in agricultural pursuits on a small farm at puketaha. He is survived by his widow, and me daughter.
MRS M. J. SPURR. AUCKLAND, Tuesday. The death lias occurred of Mrs Mary Jane Spurr, one of the early arrivals in Auckland, at the age of 75 years. Site leaves three sons, Mr Mark Flood, Mr Dan Flood (the well-known comedian), and Mr Henry Spurr, all Of Auckland. CAPTAIN G. A. SIMPSON. NELSON, Monday. The death has occurred of Captain George A. Simpson, a well-known figure in New Zealand shipping circles. Captain Simpson was particularly well known at Nelson, Westport and Wanganui.
