THE HATRY FRAUDS.
A FURTHER REMAND. ASSISTING THE LIQUIDATOR. (By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright.) (Australian Press Association.) (Received October 8, 9.45 a.m.) LONDON, October 7. Hairy and his co-defendants appeared at Guildhall Police Court and were remanded till Friday. Then the court was cleared and turned into an accountant’s office. A large table was heavily laden with ledgers, account books and documents, and the defendants settled down for a day’s conference with Sir Gilbert Garnsey, the liquidator. The proceedings which were informal and friendly continued throughout the day. Much business was got through, tiie defendants showing great readiness to answer questions, and Hatry displayed his usual alertness of mind. The defendants were enjoying a respite from prison conditions, and smoked. Hatry, who is an inveterate pipe smoker, puffed his favourite briar. Sir G. Garnsey did not smoke. When leaving he shook hands with the defendants, and thanked them for their assistance. - - *
