MR PHILIP SNOWDEN.

DIFFERENT VIEWPOINTS.

AN ADMIRER AND A CRITIC. (Australian Press Association.) LONDON, Oct. 7. The Secretary for Mines, Mr Ben Turner, speaking at the City Hail, Glasgow, prophesied that if Mr Philip Snowden should be Chancellor of the Exchequer for two or three years tie would be able to persuade the United States and other nations that the war debts should be wiped out in order that the people might bear their burdens better than at present. Mr D. Kirkwood, Labour M.P. for Dumbarton, speaking elsewhere in Glasgow, denounced Mr Snowden as a Tory.
