TEST TRIALS OF RlOl.
ELABORATE PREPARATIONS. PROPOSED FLIGHT TO INDIA. (Ily Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright.) (Austianan Press Association./ LONDON, Oct. 6. In the event of satisfactory home trials of the airship RJOI, which is still in the hangar; a flight to India is expected to he made before Christmas. Lord Thompson, Secretary of State for Air, will be a passenger for the purpose of investigating the possibilities of an Anglo-Indian service. It is stated that preparations already are afoot at Karachi for mooring the airship. A British official wireless message says that in view of the great public interest in the first flight of the HIOI tiie Air .Ministry has arranged for parking accommodation for 3000 cars on either side of the road which runs past the Cardington aerodrome for the remaining days of the trials. The dirigible was to have been taken out of her shed to the new mooring inast, three-quarters of a mile away, yesterday morning, but the weather forecast was unfavourable and itie trial was postponed until to-morrow. At least 48 hours will be spent iri the mooring mast trials. The airship will then carry out (lights and return lo the mast frequently in the initial stage of the flying tests.
