A DOUBLE CUSHION
Picnics and ihe beach always involve the .problem of sitting, and how to sit comfortably without carrying around a deck-chair. But this difficulty can bo overcome very easily, if you provide yourself with a double cushion. It has handles to carry it by, and provides both a soft jeat and a comfy back to prop up against a rock or tree. You can make it yourself, with mackintosh material for the outside, as it prevents the damp from penetrating, and cretonne for the inside. Pad it well with old blankets or padding, and make a patch pocket on the outside to carry your work or book. Stitch a handle on each end.
