LONDON WOOL SALES. Dalgety and Company, Limited ,has received the following cablegram from Its London house, dated October 4:— Wool Sales: The sales closed active. There was competition for average to good at a lower level; inferior somewhat neglected. As compared with closing rates of last series quotations are.—Greasy Merino, mostly withdrawn 3d to 3ld lower; scoured Merino 5d to Gd lower; scoured Merino, except super. 2id to 3d lower; greasy halfbred, 2d to 21d lower; scoured ha'ifbrod, 3d to 5d lower; greasy crossbred, fine, lid to 2id lower; greasy crossbred, coarse, Id to 2d lower; scoured crossbred, 2d to 3d lower; combing, fine slipe, 2d to 3d lower; other sorts, slipe, Id to lid lower; greasy lambs, 2d to 3d lower; greasy crossbred, medium, lid to 2d lower. Offered 143,303 bales. The Continent has bought 39,000 bales; home trade, 45,000 bales; America, 5000 bales; carried forward, 61,500 bales, of which 39,000 bales were not offered. The total number of bales sold was 109,000. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company Ltd., Hamilton, have received the following advice from their London House dated October 4, 1929: Wool sales: Sales closed to-day. As compared with last sales closing rates, prices arc lower about 10 per cent for coarse greasy crossbred and medium and coarse scoured crossbred; lower about 10 per cent to 15 per cent, for crossbred lambs, greasy merino super, medium greasy crossbred and fine crossbred slipe; lower about 15 per cent for scoured merino super lambs, merino, fine greasy crossbred I and One scoured crossbred; lower j about 20 per cent for greasy merino I inferior and scoured merino medium; | lower about 15 per cent, to 20 per 'cent, for greasy merino medium; i lower about 20 per cent, to 25 per i cent, for scoured merino inferior : lower about 7A per cent, to 10 per ! cent for medium crossbred slipe and ! 5 per cent, to 71 per cent. lower for ! coarse crossbred slipe and crossbred slipe clothing. There is much irregu- | larity in the bidding.
