Attempting a double event, Miss Ivy Hawk, who swam the Channel from France to England, failed to swim the other way. She started from South Foreland yesterday, and was taken out of the water three miles from the French coast after being sixteen hours in the water. She seemed likely to succeed till midnight, wlien a headwind caused a rough sea.
