PIONEER FOUND DEAD.
ELDERLY WOMAN'S END. SAD FRANKTON AFFAIR. FITS OF NERVOUS DEPRESSION. An old Waikato pioneer, Mrs. Rayson, wife of Mr. G. Rayson, retired railway inspector, of Commerce Street, Frankton, was found dead at her home last night. The circumstances indicate gas poisoning. Mrs. Rayson, who was the victim of an accident which necessitated the removal of a leg some years ago, was subject to severe fits of nervous depression at times. She was 62 years of age and was born in Ohaupo, having lived in the Waikato most of her life, with the exception of a short period in the South Island. Her husband, who was undergoing treatment at Helensville, arrived in Hamilton today. There are two sons, both of whom reside in Hamilton, and two daughters, one of whom resides in Hamilton and the other in Auckland. An inquest will be opened to-day.
