The arrest of a man who was wandering In the hush in the neighbourhood of Okokc and Urutu a few weeks ago had a sequel in the Police Court to-day, when Harold Cook was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment by Mr. It. W. Tate, S.M. Counsel stated that accused had taken to wandering through the bush and was at large for two weeks. During two days he had had nothing to eat. In consequence he became desperate and killed a heifer and cooked and ate part of it. It was not a case of slaying animals at large, but it was done merely to satisfy his hunger.
