OBITUARY,
MRS. AMBROSE E. MOORE. NELSON, Wednesday. The death has occurred at Nelson of Mrs. Ambrose E. Moore, at the ego of 83 years. The home in which she died was that in which she lived for Over 60 years without a break, from the time of her marriage. Mrs. Moore was born in Nelson. Two sons and three daughters survive, including Mr. B. A. Moore, inspector of the Bank of New Zealand. MR. THOMAS ALLEN. WHANGAREI, Wednesday. The death has occurred of Mr. Thomas Allen at the age of 59 years. Mr. Allen, who was born at Thames, was at one lime an enthusiastic footballer. MR. LATHAM OSBORN BEAL. DUNEDIN, Wednesday. The death occurred to-day of Mr. Latham (Jsborn Beal, aged 71. Air. Beal bad practised in Dunedin as a civil engineer for many years. CONSTABLE G. DOUGLAS. AUCKLAND, Thursday. The death of Constable George Douglas, for 28 years a member of the "police force, took place at the Auckland Hospital yesterday. He was born at mercer in 1871. REV. AMBROSE JOHN WILSON. (Australian Press Association.) LONDON, August 27. The deatli is announced of Rev. Ambrose John Wilson, of Birmingham, aged 76. Deceased was a noted scholar and educationalist. He was formerly a member of the Council of Trinity College, Melbourne University; a director of the Royal Humane Society of Australasia, and a vice-presi-dent of the Amateur Athletic Association of Victoria. SIR ERNEST SATOW. (Australian Press Assn.—united Service.) LONDON, August 27. The death has occurred of Sir Ernest Satow, diplomat, aged 86. Deceased had a lengthy record of diplomatic service, chiefly in the Far East. MR BOYCE BOWDEN. (Australian Press Association.) SYDNEY, Aug. 28. The death is announced of Mr Boyce Bowden, the journalist. Deceased, who was a New Zealander, was for several years on the staff of the Sun newspaper. . • •
