QUITE SATISFIED.
LATE MR PARR’S BEQUEST. HAMILTON BEAUTIFYING SOCIETY. “By the way,” said Mr W. H. Paul, at the meeting of the Hamilton Beautifying Society last evening in addressing Mr R. Parr, “we should be quite clear that you are in accord with the action of the Borough Council in turning over to the society the care of the late Mr George Parr’s property.” Mr Parr assured Mr Paul that he was quite satisfied with the arrangement. Mr Paul expressed gratification at Mr Parr’s answer and assured him that they were desirous of respecting his views in the matter. After discussion on the recent proposal before the Hamilton Borough Council to use the property for the purpose of establishing a home for backward children, various members expressed the view that this matter was one for the Health Department. “Backward children should be dealt with by the Education Department and mental defectives by the Health Department,” said Mr Paul.
