DIGGER ASTRAY.
MEMORY FAILED. QUEER LITHGOW CASE. A returned soldier, William Thornton, has had some strange experiences since he left his home at Cessnock in searcli of work at Litligow, stays a Sydney paper. Employment was secured at the Zig Zag Colliery, but on August 1U he was found on the roadside near Medlow Baths, lie had been seized with a fit, and his memory had failed him. Thornton was 'taken to the Anzac Memorial Hospital at Katoomba, and later was transferred to Lithgow. His memory has returned, and lie was ■able to tell the authorities something. He stated that he had got a ride on a car to Medlow Baths, hut did not know where he intended going. The people had promised to call for him after he had been left at Medlow Baths.
When admitted to hospital he was suffering from paralysis of the right side. Thornton has now been taken back to Cessnock —where his wife and family reside —at the expense of the Returned Soldiers’ League.
