Mrs G. Falkner, of Gisborne, who has been visiting Auckland, is staying in Hamilton on her return home.

Miss Ailsa Wilson, of Auckland, is visiting her home in Hamilton.

Mrs Dynes Fulton, of Tuakau, has returned home from a visit to Auckland.

Miss J. S. Dawe, hon. secretary of the Christchurch Open-Air School League, who has been the guest of Mrs 11. S. Dawe, Rotokauri, has returned to the South.

On Thursday a very enjoyable bridge afternoon was held at the residence of Mrs W. Paterson, Ngaruawahia, in aid of the Croquet Club. Those present were Mesdames Paterson, Rodgers, Feeney, Joy, Eyre, Cavanagh, Christie, Simpson, Adams, Hunter, McGruer, Frazer; Misses Louden, Cavanagh, Collins. Miss Collins, who obtained the highest score, was the winner of the prize. ENGAGEMENTS. The engagement is announced between Jean, daughter of Mr and Mrs T. J. Hickey, of Te Aroha, and 0, Johansen, son of Mr L. J. Johansen, of Wairoa.

The engagement is announced between Armorel Jean Middleton, only daughter of Mr and Mrs 0. M. Hawson, of Epsom, and Douglas Morrish Rennie, of Taumarunui, eldest son of Mr and Mrs G. Rennie, of Taupiri.

The engagement is announced of Lillian Annie, second daughter of Mr and Mrs E. R. Rowe, Matapnata, to Haydn Thomas, son of Mr and Mrs A. Sansen, of Ngalea.
