ON HER HONEYMOON.

PHYLLIS HAVER IN LONDON. lIAS RETIRED FROM SCREEN. "I’m going out to lunch right now. Y'es, I shall be out to tea. No, I shan't be back to dinner, and I don’t expect to be back till the small hours. Y'ou'see, I’m on my honeymoon, and i just love London.”

It was Miss Phyllis Haver, the American Aim star, speaking to a reporter by telephone from her Hotel in. Piccadilly (says the Daily Mail). Miss Haver, who was married to Mr Billy Seeman, a New York sportsman and business man a fortnight ago in New York, arrived in England last Wednesday. She has been “seeing the town” every minute since, and it was “to save time” that the talk was by telephone.' .

“Can't You Hear Me Smile?” “Well,” she said, "this is my first visit to London, and I think it's just great. Now ask me some questions.” “What do you think of the English girl?” she was asked. “Geel They’re just lovely. They have what we call a definite ‘line,’ a distinct style. I’ve been to Westminster Abbey and lots of other places I ought to see too.” Here there was a ripple of laughter. “I’ve definitely retired from the films now, and not oven the talking films will attract rne. I think they have a marvellous future.”

There was another smile here, and the reporter asked was it true that she was always smiling?. “Sure!” came the reply. “Can’t you hear me smiling now?”
