WEDDINGS.

THURLOW—CLARKIN,

At the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary, Hamilton, on Wednesday, 20th June, the wedding was solemnised between Monica, second daughter of Mr. Thomas Clarkin, Fairfield, and the late Mrs. Clarkin, to Robert, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Thurlow, Westport. Rev. F. Bleakley officiated and celebrated the Nuptial Mass. Miss Crimmlns, of Waiklno, presided at the organ.

The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a charming frock of ivory satin, with tight-fitting bodice, the skirt falling to an uneven hemline of silver.lace. The veil wes held in position by a coronet of orange blossom and fell in graceful lines to form a train. She carried a shower bouquet of jonquils and roses. Attending her as bridesmaid was Miss .Irene Clarkin. who wore a pretty frock of delphinium blue gcorgelte with deep points of silver lace. She wore a soft felt hat with touches of pink and blue. Her bouquet was of blue irises and pale pink roses. Mr. Jack Thurlow attended his brother as best man.

The bridegroom’s present to the bride was a handsome fox fur, and to the bridesmaid a diamante necklace. After the ceremony a reception was held at the residence of the bride's father and the happy couple were In receipt of many messages of congratulations and a large number of presents. Mr. and Mrs. Thurlow left later by

car for the North, where the honeymoon is being spent. The bride travelled in a smart tweed suit with fur and felt hat to tone.

KARL —KRIPPNER,

A quiet wedding was solemnised at St. Patrick’s Church, To Awamutu, on Wednesday morning of special interest to residents of this district. The contracting parties were Miss Cecelia Krippner, eldest daughter of Mrs and the late Mr John Krippner, of Te Rore, and Mr Francis J. Karl, of Oturoa, Rotorua.

The bride was attended by Miss Maggie Krippner, her sister, as bridesmaid, while Mr W. Krippner acted as best man. The bride wore an attractive gown of cream satin with the orthodox veil and orange blossom, and carried a sheaf of arum lillies. Mr Percy Krippner gave the bride away. Father Brown celebrated nuptial mass on behalf of the young couple prior to the ceremony.

The wedding party were entertained by the bride's mother at the Momoana tea rooms, after which the happy couple left on their honeymoon. Mr and Mrs Karl will reside at Oturoa. Prior to the wedding ceremony the bride was presented by Father Brown with a crucifix, a holy water font and a sacred picture. The presentation was made on behalf of Pirongia parishioners, who desired to express their appreciation of Miss Krippner’s devoted attention to the church and the altar throughout the past three years.

FINLAYSON—DAY. The wedding took place recently at Holy Trinity Church, Otahuhu, of Miss Marjorie Day, younger daughter of Mr and Mrs A. W- Day, of Clevedon Road, Otahuhu, to'Mr Peter Finlayson, elder son of Mr and Mrs P. Finlayson, of Matamata. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. C. B. W. SetonThe bride, who” entered the church with her father, wore a gown of ivorypanne velvet. The bodice was ornamented with rhinestones and pearls and the front of the skirt was draped with

silk lace, which fell to the uneven hemline. A veil of silk net with coronet of orange and a shower bouquet completed her toilette. She was attended by her cousin, Miss Olive Day, of Tamahere, who‘wore a frock of mauve georgette with tight-fitting bodice and belt of gold lame and skirt of tiny frills. A head-dress of mauve tulle and gold leaves was also worn, and she carried a shower bouquet of rnauve flowers. Little Heather Quick was in attendance, and wore a frock of shell-pink crepe do chine trimmed with frills and silver ornaments. Iter head-dress was of pink tulle and silver leaves and her posy of pink flowers to tone with her frock- The best man was Mr Daniel Finlayson, brother of the bridegroom, and the usher Mr A. Godbohero. brother-in-law of the bride. After the ceremony a reception was held at Ivingsford Hall.

GREGORY—WESTBURY. The marriage was solemnised at St.” Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Te Awamutu, on Wednesday, June 2t’>, between Elizabeth Esther, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs W. T. Westbury, of Ileiensville. and Ernest, eldest son of Mr and Mrs A. W. Gregory, of St,. Ledger’s Road, Te Awamutu. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. W. Butterwnrth, and Mrs F. Gibson presided at the organ.

The bride, who entered the ehureh on the arm of her uncle, Mr G. Westbury, wore a frock of ivory georgette and silver laer with diamante buckle. Her veil was held in placp by a coronet of orange blossom. She carried a shower bouquet of pale pink and white roses and maidenhair fern. _ The bride was attended by her sister,

Miss F. Westbury-, as chief bridesmaid, wearing a pretty frock of pink georgette with headdress of silver. She carried a bouquet of pink flowers and fern. The other bridesmaid, Miss P. Gregory, sister of the bridegroom, wore a dainty frock of powder blue georgette with silver headdress and she carried a bouquet of pink and blue flowers and maidenhair fern. Mr \Y. Gregory attended his brother as best man and Mr A. Evans as groomsman.

After the ceremony a reception was held ht the Lounge Tea Rooms. Mrs A. W. Gregory received the guests wearing a frock of beige embroidered georgette wtih hat to tone.
