VALEDICTORY.

FAREWELL AT WAINGARO. MR. AND MRS. R. DARROW HONORED The Waingaro Hall was crowded on the occasion of a farewell social to Mr and ,Mrs R. Darrow, who are leaving the district. For the past six years they had been at the Hot 'Springs Hotel, and had by their kindness and neighbourliness become very popular in the district and with the travelling public. Mr Frank Bull presented Mr and Mrs Darrow with a very handsome illuminated address as a token of the esteem in which they were held and in recognition of the good work they had done in furthering the Interests of the district and in social affairs.

In making the presentation Mr Bull expressed the regret of the community at the departure of the guests of the evening.

Mr Darrow made a suitable response. Mr and Mrs Darrow also received presentations from the residents of Pukemiro and Glen Afton.

Mr Burt, of Glen. Afton, made the presentations in a happy speech, to which Mr Darrow replied in suitable terms.
