Banking Department: Proprietors’ capital, £14,553,000; rest £3,200,958; public deposits, £9,290,798; other deposits, bankers’ £61,070,863 other accounts £36,078,600; seven-day and other bills £5,633 —total £124,199,852 ; Government securities, £37,816,855: other securities, discounts and advances, £9,586,015; securities, £17,746,941; notes, £58,329,310; gold and silver coin, £720,731 —total, £124,199852.
Proportion of reserve to liabilities 55-40; short loans, 4} per cent.; threemonth bils, 5.3/32 per cent.
