TIMBERMEN’S STRIKE.

AWARD SUSPENDED. PARADE IN MELBOURNE. (Australian Press Association.) MELBOURNE, May 17. The employers’ application to the Arbitration Court to-day for the suspension in Victoria of the award affecting the builders’ labourers, carpenters and joiners was granted by Mr Justice Lukin, owing to the timber strike, in which these workers are participating. There was no appearance of (lie union. The limber strikers had another street demonstration to-day. They paraded and hooted oulsidc the newspaper offices, hut there was no lawlessness, owing to the presence of the mounted police wiio followed the parade.
