GOVERNOR-GENERALSHIP.

NO DESIRE FOR CHANGE. WELLINGTON, Monday. Commenting editorially on a cablegram stating that gubernatorial appointments to Australian and New Zealand have been suspended till after the British general election, the Dominion says: “The suspension of any change so far as New Zealand is concerned is all to the good, but it is bad news indeed that any change at all is within measurable distance. It is very certain that if it should be possible to persuade His Excellency and Lady Alice Fergusson to extend their stay with us beyond the normal period of office it would be universally acclaimed by the people of this Dominion.”
