OBITUARY.

MRS JEFFERIES, BUNNYTHORPE. The death is announced of Mrs Eliza Jefferies, of “Ashwick Lodge," Bunnythorpe, an old pioneer of the district, at the age of 81, Born in ' Marshfield, Gloucestershire, in 1848, Mrs Jefferies came to New Zealand with her husband (the late Mr John Jefferies and a family of three in 1875, sailing from London in l the ship Helen Denny. The deceased lady \\;as of a quiet, retiring disposition, with the highest Christian ideals. The funeral was a very large one, the casket being surmounted by floral tributes sent from a, wide circle of friends and relatives. Amongst deceased’s sons is Mr G. Jefferies, of Hamilton.
