STRIKE IN MEXICO.
BIG BATTLE FOUGHT. REBELS HEAVY LOSSES. 1000 KILLED; 2000 CAPTURED. (By Telegraph—Press Assn. —■Copyright./ (Australian Press Association). MEXICO CITY, April 4. It is officially announced that more than 1000 rebels were killed in an action at Lara Forma yesterday. Five hundred men were wounded and -uuu were captured. The Federal troops’ casualties are not announced. NEW YORK, April 4. A despatch from El Paso says the revolt in Mexico, led hy General Escobar, appearn to have ( been definitely crushed with the capture of the mam infantry and troop trains of the rebels near Jiminez. General Escobar is reported to have fled northward toward the city of Chichuahua.
