ANGLICAN SERVICES.

RURAL CLERGY MEET. BISHOP AT OTOEOHANOA. The Right Rev. CL A. Cherrington, Anglican Bishop of Waifctto, held various services at Otorohanga on Thursday before large audiences of churchpeople. v All the clergy of the divided diocesan rural deaneries were in attendance from Taumarunui, Te Kulti, Otorohanga, Kawhia, and Pio p io. The gathering was inaugurated last July at Hamilton by Diocesan Synoa. It meets every two months in a different parish. Matters of general interests in the rural deanery are fully discussed. Bishop Gherrington and Archdeacon Cowie conducted the morning service (sung Eucharist), and the Bishop preached an eloquent sermon. In the afternoon the Chapter met in the vicarage, Canon Kempthome, of Te Kuiti presiding. ■ The Rev. Bush-King, of Kawhia, read a thoughtful paper on "The Child and the Church.” The questions raised by this paper, and also matters of interest to the church were fully and freely discussed. In the afternoon the Bishop and his clergy were entertained at a conversazione in the supper rooms of the town hall, when large numbers were present. In the evening the church was packed, when the Bishop delivered a sermon on the dedication of churches and of the body and mind to God. Bishop Cherrington returned to Hamilton the same evening by motor.
