The interprovincial tennis match for the Anthony Wilding Shield between Wellington (holders) and Canterbury was commenced to-day in perfect weather 1 . Results were: — Singles.—T. Rhodes Williams (Wellington) beat T. W. Patterson, 6 2, 2—6, 7—5; A. L. France (Wellington) beat D. F. Glanville, 7 —5, 6—2; C. E. Malfroy (Wellington) beat C. Angas, i, 7 > t) —2, 6 —3; I. A. Seay (Canterbury) beat D. G. France, 13 —11, 6 — 2. Doubles. —A. L. France and T. Rhodes Williams (Wellington) beat I. A. Seay and C. Angas, 6—3, 3 —6, C —3; D. G. France and C. E.
