THE CHEER GERM CLUB
FIRST CHRISTMAS OPERATIONS. The following is a statement of receipts and expenditure supplied by tlie Cheer Germ Club, of Hamilton, showing the result ol' their first Christmas operations. Examining the expenditure side of the statement, it will be seen that practically the entire proceeds have been expended in bringing Christmas cheer to 'families during the festive season. The chief means of distribution of the Club's funds lias been by the giving of boxes of groceries to deserving families. The box of groceries distributed comprised the essentials for household cooking together with a few luxuries to brighten the home during Christmas. Members of the Club carried out the necessary work of distributing the boxes of groceries. As families helped average seven members, nearly 300 deserving people were helped by the Club. It is understood that proposals are being discussed for remodelling the Club to make it a bigger institution during the coming year, when it should undoubtedly be a very great help to many families in Hamilton.
