OBITUARY.

MRS ISABEL R. THOMAS. AUCKLAND, Monday. The death has occurred of Mrs Isabel R. Thomas, wife of Rev. F. Carow Thomas, honorary assistantcurate *bf SI. Matthew’s Church. MR IVILLIAM FULLER. (Special to Times.) N GARUAWAIII A, Saturday. By the sudden death of Mr William Fuller, who dropped dead at Ngaruawahia on Friday afternoon, not only Ngaruawahia, but the Lower Waikato, lost one of its oldest and most highly esteemed settlers.

Mr Fuller was a native of Rye, Kent, and after some youthful adventures at sea and in the Argentine cainc to New Zealand when about 18 years of age. With a brother he farmed In the Grey Valley, Westland. Mr Fuller subsequently came north, and bought a farm at Whangamarino in 1883. Later he farmed an island in the Waikato near Ranglriri, which lie left to take up tlaxinilling at Taupiri, where he resided for several years. About thirty years ago he bought a farm "close’ to Ngaruawahia, and has resided in or near the town ever since.

In his young days Mr Fuller was prominent on the football and cricket fields, lie was a foundation member of the Ngaruawahia Bowling Club and a prominent player. lie took an active interest in all public affairs, having long periods of service on the Town Board, Borough Council, the Regatta Association, the school committee, and the Chamber of Commerce. He was very active during the war, and rendered devoted service during the influenza epidemic. He was an active member of the Anglican Church, being for over forty years a lay reader and churchwarden, lie was vicar’s warden of Holy Trinity, and a member of the central vestry of the Iluntly-eum-Ngaruawahia parish. Deceased leaves a widow, five sons, and seven daughters, all adults, to mourn their loss.
