SALE AT WAINGARO. The Farmers’ Co-operative auctioneering Co., Ltd., report:— At Waingaro on Wednesday we held our wether and lamb fair. The yarding was small, buyers being present from all parts of the Waikao. Competition was keen throughout, the whole yarding changing hands at satisfactory prices. We quote; Fat wethers, 31s o 32s Id; forward wethers, 4 and 6-lh, 30s to 30s 7d; a line of 403 forward wethers on account of Mr Walter Seavill realised 30s Id; good store lambs, 23s to 23s 7d; mixed sex lambs, 20s to 21s 8d; small mixed sex lambs, 15s lOd to 18s sd.
WAIHOU STOCK SALE. The Farmers’ Co-operative auctioneering Co., Ltd., report having held their Waihou stock sale on Friday, when only a medium yarding of cattle and a small entry of sheep were penned. Beef was again in keen demand, and was firm at late rates. Pigs: Only a medium yarding. Baconers and porkers in demand at usual late rates, stores and weaners showing a slight improvement. Quotations: Sheep: Heavy fat ewes, 23s to 255. Beef: Medium fat cows and heifers, £9 i2s 6d to £lO 2s Gd; lighter l’at cows, £7 17s Gd to £8 15s; killable cows, £6 15s to £7 ss; forward-conditioned cows, £5 10s to £6 10s; store cows, £3 15s to £5 2s Od; choice Jersey heifer calves, £4 6s; heavy bulls, potters, £8 10s to £9 10s. Pigs: Heavy baconers, £2 19s to £3 ss; medium baconers, £2 10s to £2 13s; light baconers and heavy porkers, £2 3s to £2 8s; light porkers, 34s to 38s; good slips, 27s Od to 30s 6d; best weaners, 12s to -15 s; smaller, 7s Od to 10s.
