News from St. Louis states that a tornado, which originated in Indiana, swept over Southern Illinois to-day. At last'reports it was turning northwards towards Wisconsin. Four persons are reported killed, but the full damage has not been determined, as telegraph communications with the stricken area are demoralised. The first reports Indiicated the possibility of a higher death toll and more extensive damage.
