Albert Jackson, who was living at the Langham 1 lotcl when arrested, appeared on remand at Marlborough Street, London, charged with conspiring with others to obtain £20,000 from Dr. Robert Graham, an Australian, by a confidence trick.

Mr Knight, foi* the police, said that Dr. Graham was anxious to get back to Australia. As the doclor did not hand over the £20,000 'the police would be willing to reduce the charge to one of attempting to obtain the money.
