anniversary day gathering. BIG FESTIVAL ON THE WAIKATO. STRONG SUPPORT EXPECTED. One of the outstanding events of the year so fa. as Hamilton is concerned is the Anniversary Day (January 29) Regatta on the Waikato River. The committee controlling the big festival has its arrangements well forward, and it only requires a fine day for the prominent support that is warranted to be extended to The Aquatic While rowing will b£. a leading feature of the coming occasion, there will be a diversity of interest provided by Maori canoe racing and also a well-selected programme of items on shore. The rowing and sculling entries for the coming occasion represent the best of the province in both branches and the standard of the sport should be exceptionally high.
