' Clem Hill cables expressing great surprise that Andrews was preferred to Richardson as Australia’s 12 th. man. He says though Richardson has failed with the hat he is still Australia’s best field, regardless of where he The re-inclusion of Blackie and Oxenham is beyond comprehension. Had the selectors seen Wall they would have been impressed. He is the fastest bowler in Australia at present though only 23. Unfortunately for Australia, the selectors were hundreds of miles away.
Warner does not comment on the Australian team, but says he believes that England possesses a tail with Geary, Talc, Duckworth and White despite their showing at Sydney. The latter half of the batting would have been strengthened by the inclusion of Ames instead of Duckworth.
