THE PLAY. THE BELLS ELIMINATED. Bell, senior, and Bell, junior (Hamilton), a strong combination, went down again in the fourth round to Chapman (Masterton), and (his eliminated them, as their section was won outright by Sherwood (Lyall Bay), who scored five wins.

Higgott (Whitiora) tied in his section with four wins, and won his first round in post-section play by defeating Morgan (Edgeware), 23—10. Fruish (Hamilton) lied in his section with two other teams, and went down in the first round of post-section play to Bain (Levin).
