DESTRUCTIVE FIRES.
HONEY FACTORY BURNED. OWNERS’ HEAVY LOSS. CHRISTCHURCH, Monday. Fire destroyed a large wooden building at West Belt, Rangiora, early this morning. It was owned by Woods Bros., apiarists, and used by them as a factory and storeroom. The damage is estimated at £IOOO. The insurance was £260 in the State Fire Office on the building and plant, and £250 on the honey in the Australian Provincial Assurance Association. HOUSE DESTROYED. WAIHI, Monday. A large house at Waikino, owned and occupied by Mr Gilbert Jones, together with the bulk of the contents, was destroyed by lire yesterday. BENZINE STORE BURNED. WAIHI, Monday. Fire destroyed a temporary benzine store at Mackaytown, together with its contents. The damage to the building is estimated at £BO. A two-ton motor lorry yvas damaged at the same lime to the extent of about £6O. Both the shed and the lorry were the property of Lovett and Sons, carriers and contractors, of Auckland.
