SALE IN AMERICA. (By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright.) (Australian Press Association.! NEW YORK, Jan. 8. The sum of £4700 was paid by Lhe Rosenbach Company at a sale of books for a second edition of Burns’ “Poems; chiefly in the Scottish Dialcct.” The chief importance of the book lies in its inscription to "John W-r Murdo, Esq." in this the author says:—“One honest virtue to which few poets can pretend 1 trust I shall ever claim as mine—to no man, whatever his station in life, or his power to serve me, have I ever paid a compliment at the expense of the truth."
