MOTORING ACCIDENTS
CAR OVERTURNS. FOUR PERSONS INJURED. AUCKLAND, Wednesday. Four persons were injured when a flve-seater car overturned on a hill a short distance from Brown’s Bay on the Milford Road at about a quarter past live last evening, and two were, sent to the Auckland Hospital. Details are:—
Miss Elva Davison, aged 21, unconscious when admitted and in a fairly serious condition, although she later recovered consciousness. She is believed to have sustained severe internal Injuries, the extent of which is not known.
Mr H. A. Davison, of Brentwood Avenue, Mount Eden, father of Miss Davison, injuries to the ribs and the right hand. Two other girls, a daughter and a niece of Mr Davison, received slight injuries. The party was proceeding to Brown’s Bay, and going slowly because of the bad state of the road, which is hilly and rough. The left-hand front wheel collapsed suddenly. The car was thrown toward the edge o.f the road, which slopes steeply, and rolled down the bank about 20ft., landing upside down on its hood. LORRY CAPSIZES. DRIVER’S HIP WHANGAREI, Tuesday. George Reeves, aged 27, had his hip dislocated as the result of the capsize of his lorry over a bank on the Waipu Road last evening. TWO PEOPLE INJURED. DARGAVILLE, Tuesday. Two motorists were travelling through the Waipoua Forest this afternoon when their car broke down. Mr Jack Patten, of Mangatu, undertook to tow the car into Dargavllle, but near the Katui school the car being towed overturned and was considerably damaged. One of the occupants escaped with a bad shaking, but the other appeared to be injured internally.
