WEEK-END PLAY. i SMITH-CLARKE SHIELD. WIN FOR WHITIORA. A Whitiora team (Land, Dug. Andrews, Wycherlcy, Higgott) visited Glen Massey on Saturday to play for the Smith-Clarke Shield. After an exciting contest the visitors defeated the home team (Connew, Macfarlane, McLeod, Morris) by one point (18 —17) and brought home the trophy to Whitiora. WHITIORA v. HUNTLY. Five rinks from Whitiora played an inter-club match against Huntly at Huntly on Saturday. Whitiora won two games and' lost three, but the match ended in a draw as the aggregate number of points scored by either side was tli«a same—92. Five rinks from Hamilton EasS visited Claudelands on Saturday for an inter-club match, but after about half a dozen heads had been decided a heavy thunderstorm converted the greens into miniature lakes and play was perforce abandoned for the remainder of the afternoon. CAMBRIDGE V. GLEN MASSEY. Three teams journeyed from Glen Massey on Saturday to play an interclub match with Cambridge. The weather was fine, and the greens, although a trifle heavy after the recent rains, were in good condition. The contest was fairly even, the local club being the winners by 27 points on the aggregate. Mr M. Butler, president of the Cambridge Club extended a hearty welconw to the visitors, Mr Davies, of the Glen. Massey Club, returned thanks.
