BAR OPENED AT ASHBURTON. LICENSE FOR A CLUB. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) ASHBURTON, Monday. After being “ dry ” for 25 years Ashburton to-dav possesses a bar for the sale of liquor, the Ashburton Club having opened one in consequence of the changed conditions resulting from the constitution of the mid-Canterbury electorate.

The club has yearly paid the annual fee on the charter, thus keeping it alive in anticipation of ” wet ” conditions.

The membership of the club is limited to 600.
