The New Zealand Dairy Produce Board has received the following market report fiom its London office, dated December 7, prices for the previous week being in parentheses:— Butter. —New Zealand: Salted, 176 s to 180 s up to 182 s (172 s to 17Ss); unsalted, 194 s up to 198 s (190 s to 198 s); first whey, 166 s (1665); second whey, 162 s (1625). Deliveries this week, 1600 tons; in store, New Zealand, 3750 tons. Australian: Finest, salted 174 s to 178 s (170 sto 1745), unsalted 182 s to 184 s up to 186 s (180 s to 184 s up to JB6s). The estimated stocks of all butters at the principal cold stores in Great Britain at November 30 were 5550 tons, compared with 7000 ions last year. LONDON DAIRY SHOW. (• ' the AWARDS. N.Z. ENTRIES FAIL TO ARRIVE. (From a correspondent.) LONDON, October 25. New Zealand was represented in a small way at the Jubilee Dairy Show held at the Agricultural Hall, Islington. The total entries of the show numbered 9515, which is a decrease of 75G as comoared with last year, partly explained by a tightening up of the regulations with a view to ensuring even higher quality exhibits. It was unfortunate that, the exhibits of three New Zealand factories which had entered for the colonial salted butter class did not arrive in time. These were the Masterton, Cambridge and Taupiri companies. Hence there were only two New Zealand competitors in the'class—the Levin Company and the Shannon Company —both of which failed to get a place. The judging was conducted according to the following scale of points:— Flavour (should be sweet, mild and nutty), 50; texture (should be firm, granular), 30; condition (should include colour, salting, general appearance and packing), 20; total 100. First prize was taken by the Candelo Cooperative Dairy Company, New South Wales, with 96 points (-48, 28, 20). second prize went to the Gloucester Dairx' Company, New South Wales, with 95 points (48, 27, 20). South Australian Farmers’ Co-operative Union (Naracoortc) and Gayndah Co-op-erative Dairy Association were bracketed as third, with 94 points (48, 27. 19). The Levin Co-operative DairyCompany’s butter scored 47, 23 and 20 —total 90. The Shannon Co-opera-tive Dairy Company scored 44, 22, and 19 —total 85. The entries numbered 75.

Two New Zealand entries appeared in the class for unsalted colonial butter —Shannon Dairy Company and the Levin Dairy Company, the former taking third prize in a total of G 1 entries. The first prize went to the Oakay District Co-operative Butter Association (Queensland) with 00 points (46|, 294, 20) ; second prize went to the Maryborough Co-operative DairyAssociation (Queensland), with 94j points (-44 f, 30, 20). The Shannon Co-operative Dairy Company, Shannon, Wellington, which obtained third prize, obtained 94 points (44 4,29 J, 20). Tying for third place was the Downs Cooperative Dairy Company, Dalby (Queensland). 1 New Zealand may congratulate itself on the result of the colonial Cheddar cheese class (coloured or uncoloured), for the first, second and third prizes were by Dominion companies. The regulations provided for I lie entry of two cheese of not less than (501 b. each. The total number of entries was 23—five from Australia, seven from New Zealand, nine from Canada and two from South Africa. i First prize and the Hansen trophy | went to the Edcndalo Co-operative Dairy Company, Southland. The Cardiff Co-operative Dairy Company, Stratford. Taranaki, took second place, and Ihe Fairfax Co-operative Company took third place.

MORRINSVILLE DAIRY COMPANY.

The Morrinsvillc Dairy Company, owing to the capable and successful way in which it has been managed, becomes more popular amongst the farmers of the district each season, and its output every season has shown a considerable increase. This season’s output so far shows an increase of 120 lons. During November 170 tons of butter were manufactured.
