* MEETING OF EXECUTIVE. s I HARKNESS MEMORIAL CUP. 1 1 A meeting of the executive com--1 mittce of the Waikato Winter Show • Association was held yesterday. There 1 was a good attendance of members. ' Mr J. Ballard, vice-president, in the 1 absence of the president, occupied the chair. A letter was received from an Australian firm interested in art needlework enclosing a cheque for £3 3s towards the 1929 prize funds, the allocation of the prize money to be left to the ladies' needlework committee. The New Zealand Dairy Factory Managers' Association wrote in connection with the Harkness Memorial Cup: "I have now much pleasure In advising you that at a meeting of our executive held here yesterday it was resolved that a gold cup to the value of 50 guineas be procured and presented to the Waikato Winter Show Association for competition at the Waikato Winter Show in the Managers' Association's cheese class (class 24, 1928 schedule), and that the special conditions shall be: —(1) Open only to members, who must be financial at time of each entry, of the Managers' Association; t(2) the cup to be won 1 four times in* succession or six_ times , j at intervals before becoming the perj sonal property of the factory manager, j irrespective of the dairy factory where he is employed at time of final victory; (3) winners' names to be inscribed each year on the cup, or on a shield, or shields, on cup pedestal. It was further resolved that Messrs P. C. H. Petersen and and J. Murray be authorised to procure the cup. We understand it is the intention of your asso- ■ ciation to continue to donate the prize 1 money in this class, and we thank you 1 for your courtesy herein." The Dominion Pressed Yeast Company notified the association that they - had finalised conditions for their shield which would be competed for at next year's Waikato Winter Show.
