ITALY INDIGNANT.

MURDER OF VICE-CONSUL. # INADEQUATE SENTENCE RESENTED A LUDICROUS VERDICT. (By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyrlg-ht.) (Times Cable.) (Received Dec. 1, 9.45 a.m.) LONDON, Nov. 30. The correspondent of the Times states that Italy is displaying whiteheat indignation because Modugno, who assassinated the Italian ViceConsul, Count Nardini, at the Paris Consulate on September 12 of last year, escaped with two years' imprisonment and a fTne of 200 francs. The jury returned a verdict of manslaughter. Signor Rainieri moved a resolution of sympathy with the Count's relatives''in the Chamber of Deputies, declaring that Count Nardini was the victim of anti-Fascist and anti-Italian ferocity, and also that the verdict was ludicrous. The Deputies rose in silence as a sign of approval.
