LOCAL GOVERNMENT BILL. AMENDMENTS TABLED. (Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Nov. 30. Contrary to certain forecasts no Government supporters voted against the Local Government Bill in the House of Commons last evening. Seven Liberals voted for the second reading. owing to the fact that Mr. Lloyd Geoi'ge had a cold he could not attend Parliament, yesterday, but he intends to lead a Liberal attack on the bill in Committer, when the clauses of the measure will be examined. The Liberal and Labour Parties have both tabled a series of amendments. An insurance of £50,000 has been effected with Lloyd's against Labour at the general election obtaining a clear majority over all the other parties. The premium paid was £IO,OOO.
