TE KAWA.
Farewell Gathering. On Thursday evening residents of Te Kawa West and environs gathered in the Te Kawa West Schoolroom to bid farewell to Mr and Mrs E. Bell and family, who have disposed of their property, and are leaving the district to reside in Pirongia. Mr J. Wallis presented to Mr and Mrs Bell, on behalf of the district, a very handsome travelling vu?. He wished them every happiness in their new home. Mr Bell suitably responded. Most of the evening was spent in dancing and ""card-playing. Master Holden gave a recitation that was much appreciated. Dance music was played by Mesdames Broadbcnt and Marker, and Mr R. Burton was a capable M.C Amongst those present were Mesdames Bell. Garmonsway, B. Mexted, Broadbcnt, Burton, Harker. T. Harker, Baxter, Murcott and Misses Douglas, Sutherland. Burton, J. Burton, Westbrook and Fear. Personal. Miss F. Alexander, headmistress of the Te Kawa West School, who has been attending lectures at the Auckland University, will return to Te Kawa on Monday. Miss Alexander has been relieved by Miss Sutherland, of Huntly.
ii is gratifying to learn that little Billy Neill, who is a patient in the Waikato Hospital, is now progressing favourably.
