PATERANGI.

Dandy Dozen Entertainment. It is seldom that the seating accommodation in the Paterangi Hall is taxed to its fullest capacity, as it was last Monday night, on the occasion of the Dandy Dozen Concert Company s enKnment. Extra seats had to be Provided as the house was packed to the doors. This is the greatest compliment that could have been tendered to the performers, who have paid a previous visit to Paterangi, and whose ahilitv is well known and whose efforts on behalf of charitable causes are greatly'appreciated. That the large audience was not disappointed was evidenced by the vociferous and pro 7 longed applause that followed every item each performer being brought back for an encore. The programme was long and of exceptional merit. At the conclusion of the concert a sumptuous supper (provided by the Paterangi Tennis Club) was greatly appreciated by the visitors. The proceeds amounted to £lB odd, and were divided between the Waikato Children's Camp Fund and the local Tennis Mrs Ross thanked the people for the interest they had displayed in a good cause. Mr S. C. Macky, president of the Tennis Club, thanked the visitors on behalf of the club. A member of the company then called for three cheers for the Paterangi ladies for the appetising supper, and the visitors concluded the proceedings with the singing of "For they are jolly good fellows." A dance, conducted by the young people of the district, was continued till midnight, Mr M. Oldham making a capable M.C. Presbyterian Bazaar. A number of Paterangi folk attended the Presbyterian bazaar at Ohaupo, for which the local Presbyterian ladies have worked for many months. There was a flne display of useful articles on the Paterangi stall the proceeds from which contributed £23 towards the grand total of £IOO. Each district in the Paterangi charge . pfgahinapouri, Kaipaki, Ohaupo, and Paterangi—had its own drapery and fancy stall, and each contributed towards the produce, sweets and tearooms. Anglican Bazaar. The Paterangi Anglican ladies will hold their bazaar in the Parish Hal], Te Awamutu, next Thursday, in conjunction with the St. John's annual fair and sale of work. They have accumulated a fine assortment of useful articles. The Weather. The rain that fell during the early nart of the week will do a vast amount of good, as it is just what was needed for the' gardens, crops and pastures. a quantity of hay was in process of hein" - harvested, but the rain so far has °not been sufficient to do it any material harm, and the farmers are so thankful for the rain that there have been no complaints about the hay.

View of Eclipse. An excellent vision of the eclipse of the moon last Tuesday night was obtained from Paterangi, every change being noted distinctly. Personal. Master Andy Benton met with a painful accident recently whilst cranking his father's car. An X-ray examination disclosed a severe fracture of the wrist. Mrs S. C. Macky is visiting Auckland, where she is the guest of Miss E. Macky, Epsem. Rev. D. C. Stewart is in Auckland, attending the Presbyterian General Assembly.
