N.Z. LAMB PRICES.

A London correspondent states that the statistical position seems to show that between now and the commencement of the killing season, New Zealand lamb will be somewhat scarce and In a position to command good prices. The consumptive season for lamb is now all the year round. No matter what other kind of meat or game or poultry is in or out of season, the lamb joint is always popular. It is not probable that Smithfield will receive any Australian lamb before the end of October or beginning of November. Even allowing for home-killed Lamb and that from Argentina it is not probable that at any time this year will the demand for lamb be overtaken by j supplies from all sources. The fact that pork is now In season and that l game and poultry are coming in more j abundantly does not alter the truth that lamb is nowadays everybody’s joint, whether he be rich or poor.
