WATERSIDERS STRIKE.
ANOTHER CRISIS. LEADERS IN A QUANDARY. DISSENSION IN THE RANKS. OWNERS' FIRM STAND. (By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright.) (Australian Press Association.) SYDNEY, October 14. The shipowners have again refused to meet representatives of the Council of Trades Unions. They say the Transport Workers Act is not open for discussion. The strike leaders are in s quandary owing to the lack of unity among the*maritime workers. A last desperate attempt to brins matters to a head is to be made to-morrow, when there will be a conference of wharf labourers and seamen at Melbourne, which at present is the storm centre.
