- Central Tennis Club. The first general meeting of the Vaharoa Central Tennis Club was held on Thursday evening. There were over 20 members present and Mr. J. D. Bryce was elected to the chair. In the past season the club was conducted as a private one, but at this meeting the decision was reached that in future it should be constituted as a public club. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted: Patron, Hon. J. G. Coates; president, Mr. S. Mason; executive committee, Messrs. J. D. Bryce (chairman), C. Chapman, R. Casey, H. Simpson, D. White, Mrs. F. L Faragher, Misses M. Casey, and H. Dick; secretary and treasurer, Mr. H. E. Salter. The rales of subscriptions were fixed at 7s 6d for ladies and 15s for men. Arrangements were made for a working-bee to be held for the purpose of preparing the courts for immediate use. Dairy Factories. The operations in the two dairy factories at this centre are assuming large dimensions, and it is anticipated that within the next few weeks both plants ■will be working at their maximum capacity. The machinery throughout ihe factories has been thoroughly overhauled during the past two months and an efficient standard thus secured. In the butter factory increased freezing power has been obtained by the installation of a large duplex compressor, while in the dried milk factory increased storage has been provided by the erection of larger hot-wells. At a meeting of the combined staffs of the two branches in connection with matters pertaining to the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy* Company Emplovees’ Superannuation Fund, Messrs. J B Wathen, C. I. Barker, 0. L. Lasenby and C. 11. Cresswell were appointed delegates to attend the annual meeting of members.
