KING COUNTRY SALES. REPORT ON STOCK SALES. Daigety and Co., Ltd., To Kuiti, have to report having held their usual fortnightly sales at Taumarunui and Otorohanga. There was a very keen demand for all classes of sheep and also for fat and store cattle, pigs however, were very dull of «ale. Taumarunui Sale. There was a fair yarding of sheep which consisted mainly of hoggets. These sold under very keen competition at the following prices:—Rest ewe hoggets, 38s lOd; others 29s to 355; wether hoggets 28s to 30s; small inferior mixed sex hoggets, 23s to 255. Cattle were yarded in small numbers but sold under very keen competition at advanced rates) Fat cows £8 to £10; store cows £3 10s to £5; inferior yearling steers, £3 10s to £4 10s; good yearling Shorthorn heifers, £4; small mixed coloured heifers, £3 10s to £3 15s to £3 17s 6d; Shorthorn cows r.w.b., £5 5s to £0 12s. Dairy cattle were yarded in fair numbers and sold readily. Best heifers close to profit £9 to £11; others £7 to £8; inferior and backward, £5 10s to £7. Otorohanga Sale. There was a very large yarding of! cattle, principally bullocks. Buyers I were present in very large numbers J from all parts of the Waikato and as | far south as Palmerston North. A pen of 32 exceptionally well grown yearling Shorthorn steers, £6 3s; other yearling steers, £4 to £4 9s; fair yearling Jersey heifers, £5 to £5 13s; fair mixed coloured yearling heifers, £3 to £4 10s; fat cows, £8 to £10; empty store cows, £3 10s to £5 19s. Dairy cows and heil'ers were the subject of keen competition. Best cows £9 to £l2; good heifers close to profit £9 to £10; smaller heifers, £7 5s to £8; backward heifers, £5 to £7 lUs; 2-year butts, £7 7s to £9 9s. MATAMATA SALE. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report having held their fortnightly sale at Matamata yesterday, there being a good all round yarding, all of which was quitted under the hammer. Prices remained firm at late rates. Quotations are: Forward conditioned hoggets, mixed sex, 20s; best quality hobby calves, iis Gd to 17s; smaller, 7s to 10s; heavy fat cows, £l2 2s Gd to £l3 15s; medium cows, £lO to £ll 12s; lighter, £8 10s to £9 14s; plain and unfinished, £0 15s to £7 17s Gd; forward conditioned stores, £5 to £0 2s; fleshy cows, £3 12s Gd to £4 14s; boners, £2 10s to £2 18s; good quality Jersey and Jersey-cross yearling heifers, £4 5s to £5; potting buls, £6 10s to £7; good stores, 28s to 325; others, 22s to 255; slips, 15s to 20s; weaners, 7s Gd to 12s Gd; choice dairy heifers, £lO to £l3; backward sorts, £8 5s to £9 10s; others, £6 to £7 15s; choice dairy cows, £lO to £l2 10s. TAUMARUNUI SALE. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report;—At Taumarunui on Tuesday wo yarded 1144 sheep, 130 head of cattle, and G 7 pigs. There was a good attendance of local and outside buyers and a keen demand for everything offered.
